 언제나 승리하시는 능력의하나님을 묵상하는 일, 이것이 ‘불굴입니다. - P68

하나님은 절대로 우리를 실망시키시는 분이 아닙니다. 고난이 우리의 소망을 정결케 한다는 말은 ‘기다림의 시간‘을 통해 소망이 완성되어간다는 의미입니다.

사도 바울이 섬김의 각오를 하게 된 동기는 빚진 자의 심정입니다(딤전 1:13. 늘 빚진 자의 심정으로 살았던 사도 바울은 사람을 향한 사랑이아니라, 예수 그리스도를 향한 사랑에서 섬김의 동기를 찾았습니다.  - P69

섬김의 가장 큰 장애는 사람에게서 받는 상처입니다. ‘빚진 자의 심정으로 섬기기를 각오했던 사도 바울의 고백을 기억하십시오. 우리가 다른 사람들보다 우월하다고 여기며 ‘내가 참아줘야지‘라고 생각한다면, 이것 역시 학생을 가장한 영적 교만이자 거짓 섬김이 될 수 있습니다. 우리의 무례함과 이기심, 죄악에도 불구하고 주님께서는 십자가에서 우리를 섬겨주셨습니다.  - P69

주님께서 보여주신 십자가 사랑이 섬김의 동기‘가 될 때, 우리는 기꺼이 다른 사람들의 ‘신발털이개가되어 섬길 수 있습니다. - P69

When we come to believe in Christ, God sends His Spirit, whom Jesus re-fers to as "the Spirit of truth" (John 14:17) to come dwell within our hearts.
The presence of the Holy Spirit is not only evidence of our decision to be-lieve in the Lord; it is also a guarantee that, no matter where we go or whatwe do, God is present with us.  - P115

Through the work of the Holy Spirit withinour hearts, the Lord convicts, encourages, and sanctifies us to grow into thepeople He wants us to be. He uses the Spirit of truth to mold our lives andmake them increasingly reflective of how His truth has changed us. - P115

‘불굴‘에도 불구하고 고난이 찾아왔다면아무리 불굴의 의지를 가지고 있어도 고난이 찾아오면 힘들고 아픕니다. 신앙생활에서 가장 힘든 일은 고난의 시간을 참고 기다리는 것‘입니다. "만일 당신의 소망이 지금 난관을 겪고 있다면,
이는 그 소망이 정결케 되고 있다는 뜻입니다.  - P68

He promises a place of rest and security that He Himself is preparing for each of us. Our struggles in this life are painful but temporary. The security and rest that await us are eternal. - P110
