1학기 강의에 이어서 2학기에는 "푸코와 신자유주의"라는 주제로 강의를 더 하게 됐습니다.

I. 강의 주제: 푸코와 신자유주의
II. 강의 목표
이 강의는 1학기 강의와 연속적으로 푸코의 콜레주 드 프랑스 강의록을 읽고 토론한다. 지난 1학기 강의에서는 푸코의 “사회를 보호해야 한다”(1975-76), 안전, 영토, 인구(1977-78)를 읽었는데, 이번 학기 강의에서는 생명정치의 탄생(1978-79) 및 관련 자료들을 함께 다루고자 한다. 생명정치의 탄생은 특히 신자유주의가 본격적으로 등장하기 이전에 이미 현대 신자유주의의 구조적 특징을 정확히 파악해내고 있으며, 이 때문에 푸코 연구자들만이 아니라 인문사회과학 분야의 여러 연구자들에게 많은 주목의 대상이 되고 있다. 이 강의에서는 푸코의 신자유주의 분석의 특징을 살펴보면서, 그러한 분석이 우리나라를 비롯한 신자유주의 사회에 대한 비판적 분석을 위해 지닌 의의 및 한계, 대안이 무엇인지 논의해보고자 한다.

1. 처음 2주는 강사가 수업 전체의 내용을 소개한 뒤 3주차부터는 수강생들의 발제와 토론을 통해 수업을 진행한다.
수강생들은 각자 수업 일정에 따라 발제를 맡고 발표 및 토론 준비를 한다.
수강생들은 3 차례 1쪽짜리 미니 페이퍼를 제출해야 하며, 기말 페이퍼를 제출해야 한다.
2. 참고문헌에 대한 자세한 활용 방법은 첫 수업시간에 따로 제시될 것이다.
